Forgiveness begins with the will to forgive.
Imagine all those that you behold in your life to be your relations; feel the love that their mother and father felt for them. This makes the need for forgiveness and reconciliation immediate. It is a key to compassion. Whoever is before you is the beloved of another. If you can easily forgive those who you feel closest to, and yourself, you can easily forgive all.
Resentment is a poison. Forgiveness is its healing. When we let go of old resentment and bitterness, new love and sweetness can flow in. This is not naiveté but the wisdom of living well, and cultivating beautiful and resilient relationships that sustain and nurture the web of life.
Forgiveness begins with the will to forgive.
